Job summary

Advocate Health seeks an experienced Advanced Practice Nurse in the GI–Gastroenterology department to provide IP and OP patient care. A Master’s in Nursing and active RN/APRN licenses are required, with board certification in a relevant area.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, perform procedures as privileges allow, and maintain EMR documentation. This full-time role offers comprehensive benefits, professional development, and the ability to impact patient outcomes across age groups.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Nursing required.
• Active RN and APRN licenses in state of practice.
• Active national board certification in area of clinical practice.
• DEA registration prior to hire.
• Illinois CS Lic. (if applicable) prior to hire, as needed.
• BL S and/or ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by practice.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, diagnoses, and determines treatment plans; orders and interprets diagnostic studies and prescribes interventions.
• Manages conditions based on evidence-based care, cost effectiveness, and risk/benefit assessment.
• Provides health promotion, disease prevention and education for patients and families.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team; refers to physicians when needed; escalates as necessary.
• Maintains accurate EMR documentation and compliant coding/billing.
• Facilitates coordinated care and clear communication among healthcare team and community agencies.
• Performs office or hospital procedures within granted privileges.
