Job summary

Inova Health is seeking an experienced Gastroenterology Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant) to support the GI service and work directly with GI providers. The role focuses on patient care across consults, rounds, and GI procedures, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and patient experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Advanced Clinical Practice or post-master's certificate required for NPs; accredited program.
• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program with NCCPA certification.
• Active Virginia license or eligibility for practice as NP/PA with appropriate credentials.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with GI physicians to provide care in gastroenterology services.
• Manage GI diseases including GERD, PUD, GI bleeding, cirrhosis, Crohn's disease, UC, IBS, GI cancers.
• Conduct new consultations, follow-ups, daily rounds and procedure triaging.
• Document histories, exams, notes, consults and progress notes.
• Prescribe medications, oversee labs, imaging and procedures as per privileges.
• Provide counseling and prep for GI procedures in inpatient settings.
• Perform procedures as trained under privileges and ensure quality metrics are met.
• Participate in quality improvement and accurate billing.

BLS Certification
