Central Maine Healthcare in Lewiston, ME seeks an experienced Gastroenterology Medical Director to provide clinical and administrative leadership for the hospital’s GI program. You will advance high-quality patient care, physician engagement, and program growth as Medical Director of Gastroenterology.

The ideal candidate is a physician leader committed to excellence, multidisciplinary collaboration, and improving access and outcomes for GI patients.

Qualifications

• MD or DO required.
• Board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology.
• Eligible for Maine medical license.
• Leadership experience in hospital/medical group settings preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provide leadership and clinical oversight for the Gastroenterology service line.
• Promote high-quality, patient-centered gastroenterology care.
• Recruit, retain, mentor, and develop gastroenterologists and advanced practice providers.
• Develop and implement a strategic plan to improve access, quality, efficiency, and service line growth.
• Collaborate with leadership to optimize staffing, scheduling, and patient flow.
• Monitor outcomes, patient experience, access, and productivity.
• Lead physician recruitment and succession planning.
• Identify opportunities to expand GI services and reduce wait times.
• Ensure compliance with policies, standards, and regulations.
