Pen Bay Hospital in Rockport, ME, seeks a Gastroenterologist to join MaineHealth Gastroenterology as Medical Director. The role blends clinical gastroenterology with administrative leadership to oversee operations, quality, and strategic direction of the Gastroenterology practice.

Clinical duties include outpatient clinic, endoscopy, and inpatient consults; the Medical Director partners with practice administrators to optimize care, safety, scheduling, and resource use, while mentoring

Qualifications

• MD/DO from an accredited medical school.
• Active and unrestricted State of ME medical license or ability to obtain prior to employment.
• Board Certification/Eligibility.
• Active and unrestricted DEA license or ability to obtain prior to employment.
• Experience performing general endoscopic procedures; EUS/ERCP skills are a plus but not required.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of clinical practice preferred.

Responsabilités

• Clinical Gastroenterology services: outpatient clinic, endoscopy, inpatient consults.
• Oversee day-to-day function of the Gastroenterology practice and coordinate with administrative leadership.
• Develop and monitor provider schedules, hospital coverage and after-hours coverage.
• Ensure quality, safety, productivity and operational efficiency in the GI practice.
• Support education and leadership development for care team members and APPs.
