Job summary

Galen Medical Group in Chattanooga, TN seeks a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for a PRN role across two GI locations. You will support providers, perform intake, and assist with exams.

Requirements include High School diploma, CMA credential, 1-3 years MA experience preferred, BLS, and EMR experience. The role involves a fast-paced environment, multi-tasking, and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must be a Certified Medical Assistant from a nationally accredited program.
• One year of relative medical assistant experience in the clinical setting is required if completion of a Medical Assistant program qualification is not met.
• 1-3 years’ clinical medical assistant experience is preferred.
• Electronic Medical Record experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the provider to determine patient needs and assists with quality patient care.
• Verifies patient information by interviewing patient and recording medical history.
• Performs tasks to prepare patients and rooms for examination and support minor procedures.
• Schedules outpatient testing, procedures, or surgeries and manages referrals.
• Triage patient phone calls per site protocol and process prescription refills as needed.
• Performs ancillary testing (EKG, phlebotomy, etc.) and records results in patient chart.
