Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the GI team through Banner Staffing Services in Chandler, AZ. The role supports clinicians, assists with exams and procedures, and coordinates patient care to ensure a smooth clinic flow.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, an approved medical assistant program, active certification, and BLS; fingerprint clearance and EMR experience are preferred. Position offers daytime, Monday–Friday shifts and per diem opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an approved medical assistant training program.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification is required with meaningful use.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card may be required depending on facility.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for exam by recording vital signs and chief complaint.
• Assist with exams and minor procedures, including phlebotomy and EKGs.
• Coordinate patient care: referrals, authorizations, scheduling, and test results.
• Provide clerical support and ensure accurate billing information.
• Maintain clean exam rooms and sterilize equipment as required.
• Order supplies and manage medication recalls as directed.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and staff.
• Complete onboarding/orientation activities as needed.
• Work under supervision of providers in a clinical setting.
