Job summary

Florida Digestive Health Specialists LLP in Brandon, FL is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced gastroenterology team. The role supports daily operations, assists physicians and staff, and helps maintain accurate EMR records to ensure smooth patient flow.

Ideal candidates have CMA/RMA certification preferred and at least one year of clinical experience, with strong communication, organization, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Certification of Completion of accredited MA program preferred (CMA or RMA).
• 1+ year of experience in a clinical setting, preferably gastroenterology.
• Proficiency in EMR systems and basic computer skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs and documenting in EMR.
• Enter recalls and handle prescriptions as directed by the physician.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure safe patient care.
• Maintain infection control and HIPAA compliance.
• Assist with physician referrals and pre-certifications as needed.
• Maintain patient records and confidentiality.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
• Other duties as assigned.
