United Digestive in Florida is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and management with clinical, clerical, and patient-care tasks.

The role manages patient charts, coordinates tests and results, and ensures HIPAA compliance while maintaining compassionate, professional service in a fast-paced gastroenterology setting. Ideal candidates have CMA/RMA certification, 2–3 years of experience, and strong computer skills across EMR and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Current Certified or Registered Medical Assistant, or equivalent experience required.
• CPR certification preferred; gastroenterology experience preferred.
• 2-3 years of specialty clinical experience in a physician practice.

Responsabilités

• Monitors schedule and organizes patient flow for physician office visits or in-office procedures.
• Accompanies patients to exam room, triages, collects history, and provides assessments as delegated.
• Schedules and obtains results for testing and communicates results to physicians and patients.
• Performs or assists with in-office procedures and ancillary services.
• Manages patient charts and ensures clinical information is complete and scanned into the EMR.
• Prepares charts in the EMR prior to physician visits per practice process.
• Ensures medications are up to date and handles prescription refills in the EMR.
• Maintains exam rooms with sterilization, supplies, and equipment.
• Counsels patients with information regarding medical treatment or procedures.
• Responds to emails/voicemails and returns patient calls promptly.
• Coordinates information requests to guarantee payment on patient accounts.
• Maintains HIPAA confidentiality and participates in staff meetings.
• Cross-trains and performs other duties as directed by Practice Manager.
