Job summary

Children's Health in Dallas, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant GI to provide outpatient care and support clinical workflows within the GI Department. The role involves rooming patients, recording vitals, assisting with examinations, drawing labs, and immunizations under physician delegation.

The ideal candidate will perform administrative tasks, help with insurance processes, and maintain a collaborative, fast-paced outpatient environment. On-site, full-time, daytime shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• One of the Medical Assistant certifications (MAC) is required or must be obtained within 180 days after start.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outpatient care and support clinical workflows to ensure efficient patient experiences.
• Prepare patients for clinic visits, including intake, vital signs, height/weight, and rooming.
• Assist with examinations, treatments, procedures, and specimen collection.
• Perform point-of-care testing and administer vaccines under physician delegation.
• Handle front desk tasks including registrations, scheduling, and basic billing/help with insurance processes.
• Follow physician delegation and standing orders for clinical tasks and documentation.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Accredited Medical Assistant program completion

MAC certification (NCMA/CMA/CCMA/RMA) within 180 days
