Job summary

PathGroup is seeking an AP/CP board-certified or board-eligible pathologist with GI, liver, and transplant pathology expertise to join a hospital-based practice in Dallas, Texas.

The role emphasizes complex GI and liver pathology with collaboration across GI, hepatology, surgical, oncology, and transplant teams, in a high-volume tertiary-care environment. PathGroup offers comprehensive benefits and strong subspecialty support.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Anatomic Pathology or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
• Fellowship training in GI/liver pathology or substantial experience in GI/hepatobiliary and transplant pathology.
• Demonstrated experience with complex liver pathology; transplant pathology experience preferred.
• Eligibility to obtain an unrestricted Texas medical license.

Responsibilities

• Interpret complex gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, medical liver, and transplant-related pathology specimens.
• Provide subspecialty consultation on challenging GI and liver cases.
• Sign out additional surgical pathology cases as needed.
• Perform frozen sections and participate in call and hospital coverage responsibilities as assigned.
• Collaborate with gastroenterologists, hepatologists, transplant physicians, surgeons, oncologists, and other clinical colleagues.
• Participate in multidisciplinary conferences and tumor boards as applicable.
• Support laboratory quality assurance, quality control, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with hospital, laboratory, regulatory, and medical ethics standards.
• Contribute to collegiality, responsiveness, and clinical excellence of the practice.
