Job summary

Hennepin Healthcare is seeking a GI Technician for the GI Diagnostic Lab in Minneapolis. The casual role supports GI procedures, assists physicians, nurses, and staff, and ensures proper setup, sterilization, and documentation for procedures such as EGD, colonoscopy, and ERCP.

Minimum 3 years in patient care, BLS certification, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment are required. Preference given to those with GI/endoscopy training or certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years previous experience in a patient care setting.
• Previous experience in a high acuity inpatient area or procedural area.
• Current Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Safely escorts or transports patients to and from procedures in GI lab and OR.
• Ensures safe handling while transferring patients from cart to operating room table.
• Maintains clean and operable equipment and supplies.
• Observes patients' condition and communicates changes to RN/physician.
• Takes and records vital signs and prepares cases for procedures.
