Job summary

West Tennessee Healthcare in Jackson, TN is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to support the GI Lab during endoscopy procedures. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, prepare procedure rooms, and assist physicians during GI interventions.

The role requires knowledge of infection control, accurate documentation, and the ability to communicate patient needs. BLS is required; ACLS is encouraged; Tennessee RN licensure is required. Call back and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• G.I. Lab nursing experience or familiarity with endoscopy procedures.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care with emphasis on GI procedures.
• Knowledge of infection control and hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepares procedure rooms with equipment and supplies for GI procedures.
• Performs initial patient assessment and develops care plans.
• Notifies physician of patient arrival and patient status.
• Administers medications, IV fluids, and prepares blood products per policy.
• Ensures safe disposal of hazardous waste and proper equipment care.
• Documents orders, charges, and patient information accurately in the system.
