UPMC, located in Williamsport, PA, is seeking a BC/BE Gastroenterologist to join our Center for Digestive Diseases as a GI Hospitalist. This dynamic group of physicians and APPs is committed to providing the latest techniques and advanced procedures for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of gastrointestinal and liver diseases.

Position Highlights

• 7 days on/7 days off block schedule
• Dedicated PA/NP support, available to round on inpatients and answer questions from hospitalists/nursing staff
• Inpatient consults and procedures with minimal outpatient procedures
• Dedicated procedure room available every day
• Average inpatient census: 3 to 6 new consults, total of 8 to 20 patients
• Procedures supported by CRNA and overseen by anesthesiologists
• After-hours calls managed by answering service (prep issues, refills, etc.)
• Collegial and supportive hospitalist service
• Support from Interventional Radiology, Acute Care Surgery, Vascular Surgery
• On-campus radiology services including US, CT, MRI/MRCP
• Therapeutic endoscopist on staff (EUS/ERCP/luminal stenting, etc.)
