Position Overview

UPMC in Williamsport, PA, is seeking a BC/BE Gastroenterologist to join our Center for Digestive Diseases as a GI Hospitalist. This dynamic team of physicians and APPs is dedicated to providing the latest techniques and advanced procedures for diagnosing, preventing, and treating gastrointestinal and liver diseases.

Position Highlights

• 7 days on/7 days off schedule
• Dedicated PA/NP support for inpatient rounding and questions from hospitalists and nursing staff
• Inpatient consults and procedures, with minimal outpatient procedures
• Access to a dedicated procedure room daily
• Average inpatient census of 3 to 6 new consults, totaling 8 to 20 patients
• Procedures supported by CRNA and anesthesiology oversight
• After-hours calls managed by an answering service (e.g., prep issues, medication refills)
• Supportive hospitalist team and collaboration with Interventional Radiology, Surgery, and Vascular Surgery
• On-campus radiology services including US, CT, MRI/MRCP
• Therapeutic endoscopy services (EUS/ERCP/luminal stenting)
