Job summary

Gastro Savannah is seeking an experienced histology technician to join our laboratory team. The role focuses on preparing tissue specimens, embedding, microtomy, staining, and mounting for microscopic examination, with attention to accuracy and safety.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree in histotechnology or a biology/chemistry degree, plus at least one year of histology experience in a clinical or hospital setting; HT or HTL certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Histotechnology or a related field is required or preferred.
  • At least 1 year of histology experience in a clinical or laboratory setting.
  • HT or HTL certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare tissue specimens through processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, and mounting for microscopic examination.
  • Collect and process biological samples following strict laboratory protocols and aseptic techniques.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all laboratory procedures, specimen tracking, and patient information.
  • Ensure proper handling of specimens using accurate anatomy knowledge and pathology terminology.
  • Perform routine quality control checks on equipment and reagents to guarantee reliable results.
  • Follow safety guidelines diligently, including aseptic techniques and infection control practices.
