Job summary

Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City seeks an Endoscopy Technician to support the endoscopy suite, prepare the field, obtain needed equipment, uphold patient safety standards, and assist the physician and registered nurse. This role follows a career ladder with duties ranging from basic to advanced complexities.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, BLS certification, English proficiency, and the ability to perform job-related tasks safely with/without accommodations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must complete basic competency: Endoscopy Tech in Scope room or Endoscopy Tech in Procedure.
• American Heart Association BLS required.
• Must understand English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Support endoscopy patient care and field prep.
• Maintain equipment readiness and patient safety standards.
• Assist physician and registered nurse during procedures; follow the career ladder program.

Position Details

Location: Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City

Shift: Full Time (40 hours/week)

Schedule: 4 10-hr shifts/week Monday-Friday 8a-6:30p

Overview: Maintains professional accountability and technical support for provision of patient care for the endoscopy patients experience. As directed, may be preparing the endoscopy field, obtain needed equipment uphold patient safety standards and assist the physician and registered nurse. Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties and may assist with special procedures as noted on the career ladder program. These duties may range from limited to overly complex. All duties are performed in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications

• Education: High-School Diploma or GED are required. You may be asked to provide proof of education.
• Experience: Can successfully participate in lower patient acuity cases AND/OR high-level disinfection; must complete one basic competency: either Endoscopy Tech in Scope room competency OR Endoscopy Tech in Procedure Competency.
• Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Other: Must understand English both written and spoken, must be able to perform job-related functions safely and successfully, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state, or local law.

This is a career-ladder position. The level at which the successful candidate is hired will be determined based on education, certification/licensure, and relevant experience.
