Qualifications

• Knowledge of GI procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assists Registered Nurse in preparing patients for procedures, and caring for them post-op.
• Checks pre-/ post-op area for cleanliness and orderliness.
• Brings the patient to pre-op area and assists with changing if needed.
• Takes vital signs.
• Ensures pre-op testing, H&P, and necessary paperwork are on chart prior to procedure.
• Transports patients to and from procedure rooms.
• Maintains supplies and equipment; Restocks carts.
• Directs family members; includes family/patient in post-op instructions.
• Coordinates patient transportation.
• Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
• Participates in QAPI, Infection Control and Safety Program.
