Job summary

United Surgical Partners International, Inc. (USPI) - Southwest Endoscopy is hiring a GI Technologist PRN to support high-quality endoscopy services.

This role provides patient care in a fast-paced ASC and collaborates with the endoscopy team to ensure procedural readiness and safety. The GI Technologist assists during procedures, manages instrument sterilization, handles supply distribution, and ensures accurate inventory control while maintaining aseptic techniques and patient safety

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of an appropriate surgical technician program or previous surgical technician experience of at least two years.
• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient.
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation.
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed.
• Excellent teamwork and communication with staff, patients and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Assists endoscopy team during endoscopy procedures.
• Arranges and inventories sterile set-up for operation and passes items as needed.
• Assists in preparing and moving patients, and in cleaning the endoscopy room.
• Delivers safe patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse and according to policy.
• Assists physician with procedures and anticipates needs.
• Maintains inventory and central supply distribution according to facility procedures.
