Job summary

Truman Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Nurse RN for the University Health GI Lab in Kansas City, MO. The role involves pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patient care for GI procedures and endoscopy support.

Responsibilities include assisting with GI tests, providing moderate sedation, setting up equipment, recording data, and participating in after-hours on-call emergencies. Requires MO RN license, BSN/ADN, BCLS, ACLS, and 2+ years critical care or GI/PACU/ED experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or ADN.
• Current Missouri RN license.
• BCLS and ACLS certification.
• Ability to perform independently in critical situations.
• Minimum 2 years in critical care or related GI/PACU/ED experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess and care for patients undergoing GI procedures before, during, and after the procedure.
• Assist with endoscopic procedures and other GI tests (liver biopsies, anorectal and esophageal manometry, etc.).
• Provide moderate sedation when needed and monitor patient safety.
• Set up equipment, document patient data, and assist gastroenterologists.
• Support after-hours on-call emergencies and ensure equipment cleanliness and maintenance.
