Job summary

Ardent Health Services is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant for a Gastroenterology Clinic in Tyler, TX. The role is on the day shift and involves both administrative and clinical duties under physician supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, graduation from an accredited MA program, CMA or RMA certification, EMR and MS Office knowledge, and BLS to be obtained within 14 days of hire. Prior clinic/hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Graduate from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school/program.
• Current national certification as a CMA or RMA.
• Basic EMR and Microsoft Office knowledge.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Prior experience in a clinic or hospital setting supporting patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician.
• Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes.
• Clinical duties may include rooming patients, taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.
