Job summary

Tyler Regional Hospital in Tyler, TX is seeking a day shift, full-time Gastroenterology Clinic Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our team.

You will perform administrative and clinical duties under physician supervision, including scheduling, medical records, vital signs, rooming patients, drawing blood, and assisting with patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate from an accredited CMA program.
• Current CMA or RMA certification.
• Basic EMR and Microsoft Office knowledge.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform administrative duties under physician supervision, including scheduling, medical records, billing, and coding information.
• Clinical duties include rooming patients, taking and recording vital signs, preparing for examinations, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.

• Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician.
  Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes.
• Clinical duties may include rooming patients, taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Graduate from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school/program.
• Current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
• Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Associate's degree.
• Prior experience in a clinic or hospital setting supporting patient care.
