Job summary

UT Health East Texas in Tyler, TX is seeking a day shift, full-time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support the Pain Management Clinic. You will perform administrative and select clinical duties under physician supervision to help ensure smooth patient flow.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent and current CMA licensure; BLS within 14 days of hire is preferred. Prior clinic experience is welcome. This role emphasizes patient care and teamwork in a busy setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current licensure as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant is required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician.
• Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes.
• Clinical duties may include rooming patients, taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.
