Job summary

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) seeks an Environmental Protection Specialist II to support the GHG inventory and emissions reporting program. You will analyze emissions data, draft technical documentation, and coordinate with other agencies on modeling and reduction strategies.

Responsibilities include QA of emissions data, preparing memos, and leading collaborations with stakeholders to advance climate policy. Residency applies to Colorado residents only.

Qualifications

  • Six (6) years of experience in emissions accounting and/or sustainability/EHS reporting.
  • A combination of related education and experience equal to six years.
  • Preferred: technical report writing and presenting to public audiences.
  • Experience with BI data visualization (Tableau, PowerBI) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to compilation and continual improvement of statewide GHG inventory and related reports.
  • Develop briefs, positions, and summaries for AQCC and other stakeholders.
  • Review data submissions and provide guidance to regulated entities on reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance GHG reduction strategies.
  • Prepare presentations and policy documents for public dissemination.
  • Coordinate meetings and provide technical input for reviews and modeling.
  • Support training and mentorship within the unit.
