Job summary

Worcester State University in Worcester, MA seeks a Youth Facilitator for the Latino Education Institute to support youth programs and activities. You will facilitate small groups, assist with a wide range of recreational and educational activities, and help collect participant data, while transporting materials to classroom sites and modeling patience and reflective listening.

You’ll work under the supervision of Kathleen Orengo.

Qualifications

• Good communication, organizational and time management skills are required.
• Must be able to work with a variety of people and meet deadlines.
• Maintain a reliable and dependable attendance record.
• High School Diploma or GED and/or 3 years of experience working with persons from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate small groups and assist with group activities.
• Work with students in a wide range of recreational and educational activities (i.e. Photovoice, Spanish Reader's Theatre, arts and crafts, etc.).
• Assure the collection of all data including participant demographic, attendance and assessments.
• Aid with transporting program material to classroom site.
• Serve as a positive role model by modeling desirable behaviors-e.g. patience, tolerance, reflective listening.
