Job summary
Hackensack Meridian Health and Jersey Shore University Medical Center seek a Geriatrician Faculty to serve as Associate Director of the Geriatric Consult Service. You will oversee administrative and clinical programs, develop inpatient/outpatient geriatric consultation services, and co-manage high-risk surgical patients.
The role blends direct patient care with program development, supported by a Social Worker, two Geriatric NPs, and a Geriatric Surgical Coordinator, with opportunities for
Qualifications
- Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with a geriatric medicine fellowship/CAQ.
- Ability to obtain NJ medical license, DEA and CDS.
- Excellent clinical and teaching skills.
- Experience in cognitive assessment.
Responsibilities
- Perform inpatient and outpatient geriatric consultations and follow-up visits.
- Assist in preoperative assessment program design for high‑risk elective surgical patients.
- Participate in interdisciplinary conferences for high‑risk patients.
- Assist in comprehensive inpatient assessment program for high‑risk medical/surgical patients.
- Support Undergraduate/Graduate Medical Education and continuing education for physicians and APPs/Residents.
- Collaborate with the Chief of Geriatrics on establishing a potential Geriatric Fellowship.
