Job summary

The Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, affiliated with UCLA, seeks a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with geriatrics training or long-term care experience to join the Geriatric and Extended Care Program. You will provide comprehensive care to older Veterans in a multidisciplinary VA environment and supervise trainees.

The role offers a full-time on-site schedule with opportunities for academic appointment and teaching, research, and quality improvement

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine.
• Current, full, and unrestricted license.
• Completion of residency in an accredited core specialty.
• Board Certified in Internal or Family Medicine with Geriatric Medicine training or experience in long-term care.
• Preferred: Fellowship trained or post-residency clinical experience in Geriatric Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Clinical care of older adults in a long-term care setting.
• Work in partnership with physicians, NPs, PAs, nursing, and other healthcare disciplines.
• Supervise and teach geriatrics fellows, residents, and trainees.
• Partner with the Medical Director for QA and administrative tasks.
• Must qualify for a faculty appointment at UCLA.
• Provide care for elderly patients with complex medical needs in a VA Community Living Center (CLC).
• Maintain QA and meet administrative needs in the CLC setting.
• Collaborate with the Medical Director to maintain quality assurance and administrative needs in the nursing home care setting.
