Job summary

North Alabama Shoals Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an RN for our Behavioral Health team. This role focuses on compassionate, patient-centered care within a collaborative environment, with autonomy and purpose. You'll perform plan-of-care interventions, document care, monitor patient status, assist with ADLs, and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams.

A state RN license and an ADN are required; BSN preferred. Schedule: 3 x 12 Full Time.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state.
• Associate degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification within 14 days of hire.
• One year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs).
• Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
