Job summary

The Chateau at Brooklyn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist (RT) to join our skilled nursing team. The position covers Saturday and Sunday, works with geriatric residents, and requires state licensure (RRT/CRT) and BLS.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active state license as RRT or CRT.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience in long-term care settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory therapy to rehab patients with various illnesses/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Complete bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Provide care for patients with tracheotomy.
• Experience in a long-term care setting.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Performs related duties as required.
