Job summary

The Chateau at Brooklyn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in New York seeks a full-time Respiratory Therapist to provide weekend coverage (Saturday and Sunday) in a skilled nursing setting. The ideal candidate will assess and treat geriatric residents, initiate therapies, and maintain patient records with independence and clinical judgment.

Requirements include graduation from COARC accredited program, state licensure as RRT or CRT, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited respiratory program with valid state license (RRT or CRT).
• Licensed to practice in the state of practice (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements respiratory techniques to rehab patients.
• Initiate therapies, maintain records, operate and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Maintain daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in long-term care setting.
• Follow facility procedures and protocols.
• Complete tracking, auditing and caseload management.
