Job summary

The Chateau at Brooklyn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist for Saturday and Sunday coverage in a skilled nursing setting. The candidate should be licensed in New York, capable of independent evaluation and treatment, and committed to geriatric care.

A passion for improving residents’ experience is essential. Responsibilities include initiating therapies, maintaining records, and performing bedside treatments; participation in quarterly staff

Qualifications

Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
Licensed as RRT or CRT.
Licensed in the state in which practicing BLS certification.

Responsibilities

Completes assessments and implements Respiratory technique to maintain or rehab patient with many different Respiratory illness/diseases.
Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment
Complete a variety of bedside treatments
Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter
Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation
Attend applicable IDT meetings
Experience with tracheotomy
Experience is a long term care setting
Follow procedure and protocol of facility
Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management
Performs related duties as required

Education

COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program
