Lutheran Care Center in Poughkeepsie, NY is seeking a Recreation Therapy Assistant to plan, implement, evaluate and document activities that meet residents' needs and support their physical and mental well-being. You will lead large and small group functions and visit residents one-to-one, working with volunteers and community resources.

This full-time union position (1199) offers competitive benefits, HS diploma or GED required, $16.80 per hour, and a schedule that includes weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced recreation setting.
• Minimum two years’ experience in short term rehab and geriatrics preferred.
• HS Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of activities for residents.
• Lead large and small group functions and visit residents one-to-one.
• Work with volunteers and community resource people; perform other duties as required.
