Job summary

Odom Rehab, a division of OHW, seeks a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide outpatient PT services in a geriatric rehabilitation setting, working within assisted living facilities and the surrounding community.

The role involves adhering to state guidelines, documenting care, coordinating with physicians, and participating in staff meetings. We emphasize clinical excellence, teamwork, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• One year of PTA experience (preferred).
• Recent / previous work experience in primary health care setting (preferred).
• Ability to follow written and oral directions.
• Computer skills required.
• Demonstrates a high level of personal and professional accountability and responsibility.
• Self-directed and performs duties independently.
• Ability to problem solve and apply critical thinking skills.
• Must have the proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
• For Mandatory Administrative Drivers: Minnesota driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Must maintain personal vehicle auto insurance coverage.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services in accordance with state guidelines.
• Follow Plans of Care and provide input on progress to keep goals relevant.
• Deliver treatment including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, balance training, and pain management.
• Educate patients and families on self-management.
• Assess adaptive equipment such as canes, walkers, and orthotics.
• Develop a discharge plan for patients completing therapy.
• Document treatment daily and submit charges for services.
• Communicate with physicians and medical staff regarding status changes.
• Assist in updating OHW treatment protocols and participate in staff meetings.
• Track Continuing Education Credits and licensure renewal.
