Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Active Registered Nurse license required.
• Experience in long term geriatric nursing care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer and document medications and treatments per physician orders and facility policies and procedures.
• Record time spent on treatments in accordance with policy.
• Assess residents' response to medications and report adverse effects.
• Notify physician of refusals and non-compliance with treatment plans.
• Inform residents and families about plans, implications and side effects.
• Ensure proper storage and security of drugs per policy.
• Follow drug ordering and receiving procedures per policy.
• Assist in orientation and training of new nursing staff.
• Practice infection control and universal precautions policies.
• Participate in quality assurance programs and safety procedures.
• Assist with physician rounds and orders as required.
