Independence Rehab is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to serve residents in Burlington and Mt. Vernon, splitting days between two geriatric clinics on an outpatient basis.

Qualifications

• Active Washington PTA license in good standing.
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Interest in geriatric care and functional outcomes.
• SNF experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Split days between the two assisted living facilities, treating patients on an outpatient basis.
• Treat a medically complex geriatric population with time, clinical reasoning, and compassion.
• Guide residents through mobility milestones—first steps, safe transfers, returning home.
• Lead gait, balance, strengthening, and functional training sessions.
• Help reduce fall risk and build confidence with daily activities.
• Collaborate closely with your PT to adjust care plans.
• Work alongside nursing, OT, and speech to support whole-person recovery.
• Celebrate small wins that matter deeply to patients and families.
