UW Medical Center–Northwest is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse to join the Geriatric Psychiatry Unit in Seattle. The role focuses on compassionate care for older adults with behavioral health needs and requires strong teamwork with a multidisciplinary staff.

The position is per diem, part‑time with 12‑hour shifts and a minimum four shifts every four weeks. Candidates must have an active WA RN license, BLS, and inpatient psychiatric nursing experience.

Qualifications

• 1 year of inpatient psychiatric nursing experience.
• Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State.
• Active BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Triage incoming patients.
• Provide behavioral health education to geriatric patients and their families.
• Ensure patient safety protocols are followed, including restraint protocols.
• Monitor and administer oral and injectable medications.
• Coordinate patient care with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, psychiatrists, and occupational therapists.
• Provide personalized care to geriatric patients with compassion, dignity, and respect.
