Job summary

Harborview Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Department is seeking a Mental Health Practitioner, Geriatric Specialist for per-diem day shifts in Seattle. The role focuses on comprehensive geriatric mental health care, psychosocial support, and coordination with housing, benefits, and community services.

The position emphasizes collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, crisis management, confidentiality, and recovery-oriented care to help aging adults maintain independence and housing

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in behavioral sciences or Bachelor’s Degree in nursing or a behavioral science with relevant clinical experience.
• Three years’ of experience in direct delivery of professional mental health care or equivalent.
• Geriatric experience or Gerontology coursework preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial screenings and psychiatric evaluations for new clients.
• Provide mental health case management and counseling for assigned caseload.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans with a multidisciplinary team.
• Coordinate housing, funding, and medication services as needed.
• Lead or co-lead therapeutic groups and assist in program planning.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in medical records.
