Job summary

UW Medical Center-Northwest in Seattle is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This fast-paced unit cares for a diverse patient population with high acuity and requires flexibility for a 12-hour shift schedule.

As a per diem RN, you will triage and stabilize patients, administer medications, monitor vitals, and collaborate with physicians, social workers, and paramedics to deliver compassionate, evidence-driven care. Prior ED experience and WA licensure are required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of recent RN experience in an Emergency Department.
• Current ACLS and BLS certification.
• Active RN license in Washington State.
• Able to work 12-hour shifts and a mix of day/mid shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients upon arrival.
• Stabilize patients with life-threatening injuries and illnesses.
• Monitor heart rate, blood pressure, and other vital signs.
• Administer medications and fluids.
• Respond quickly when emergent issues arise.
• Work alongside emergency department physicians, cardiac care professionals, social workers, and paramedics.
• Support patients with trauma, cardiac, stroke, and behavioral health needs.
• Provide personalized patient care with compassion and dignity.
