Job summary

Rush University Medical Center is seeking a Geriatric Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive psychiatric care for older patients. The ideal candidate will manage complex conditions and work closely with other specialists, while also participating in the education of medical students and residents.

The position requires an M.D. or D.O. with completion of a Psychiatry Residency and preferably a Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry. A competitive compensation package of $240,000 - $310,000 is offered.

Qualifications

• Must be board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for patients 65 and older.
• Diagnose and treat conditions like dementia and mood disorders.
• Mentor medical students and participate in resident education.

Education

Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.)

Completion of an accredited Psychiatry Residency

Completion of an accredited Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry
