Job summary

San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living in San Francisco, CA, seeks a Recreation Therapist to lead therapeutic activities for the Acute Geriatric Psychiatry Hospital. You will design evidence-based programs, align with patient treatment plans, and drive program excellence within the IDT.

The role requires collaboration, regulatory compliance, and ongoing staff development to support stabilization and recovery across geriatric psychiatric patients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy or related field required.
• Minimum of two years’ experience with mentally ill patients preferred.
• CPI certification within 90 days of hire or eligibility for certification.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead a comprehensive therapeutic activities program aligned with best practices.
• Establish program goals, performance metrics, and outcomes tied to patient wellness.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and accurate EMR documentation.
• Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team to integrate programming into care plans.
• Supervise Recreation Coordinators, students, interns, and volunteers.
• Maintain safety, dignity, and therapeutic milieu for all patients.
