Job summary

San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living is seeking a Recreation Therapist for the Acute Geriatric Psychiatry Hospital to lead and evolve therapeutic activity services. You will design evidence-based programming that supports stabilization, recovery, and progression to wellness, while integrating into individualized treatment plans with the IDT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Alternative qualifications may include a bachelor’s degree in a related field with eligibility for certification.
• Minimum of two years of experience with mentally ill patients preferred.
• CPI certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance a comprehensive therapeutic activities program aligned with best practices and patient needs.
• Establish program goals, performance metrics, and outcomes tied to patient wellness and recovery.
• Ensure compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, and state guidelines.
• Oversee group and individualized therapeutic interventions aligned with treatment plans.
• Lead and develop Recreation Coordinators, students, interns, and volunteers.
• Monitor patient safety and environmental standards during all programming.
• Participate in IDT meetings and provide programming updates.
