Job summary

Miami Jewish Health is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to administer skilled PT interventions under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. This role supports residents with musculoskeletal, neurological, and other impairments to promote functional independence within a comprehensive long-term care setting.

The position requires an Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant (preferred), Florida licensure, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant preferred.
• Florida licensed physical therapy assistant.
• Current BLS certification.
• 1 year of experience in physical therapy; geriatric population preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Administers skilled physical therapy interventions under supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Assists with discharge planning and home exercise program documentation.
• Collaborates with IDT and attends team meetings.
• Provides supervision to rehabilitation aides and students.
• Maintains supplies and reports equipment issues.
• Demonstrates professionalism and compassion in care of residents.
