Job summary

Ventura Services Florida is seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to support resident mobility and rehabilitation within a clinical setting. You will assist in transporting residents, demonstrate the use of therapy appliances, and provide therapy in resident rooms as directed by the supervising therapist.

The role requires an active Florida PTA license, the ability to pass a Level II background check and drug screening, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Active Florida Physical Therapy Assistant License is required.
• Pass a Level II Background Check.
• Must pass a drug screen and be medically cleared.

Responsibilities

• Brief resident procedures involved in physical therapy and prepare equipment.
• Assist in transporting residents to and from physical therapy room/area.
• Demonstrate the use of medical appliances involved in physical therapy (wheelchairs, crutches, canes, braces, prosthetic devices).
• Perform physical therapy in resident rooms as necessary.
• Assist the therapist as directed.
• Assist residents in ambulatory training as directed.
• Be alert to resident responses to treatment and notify the therapist if assistance is needed.
• Ensure protocols align with the resident's care plan and communicate any plan adjustments.
• Assist and participate in resident assessment activities.
• Provide therapy treatment according to the resident's plan of care.

Full Time Sign on Bonus

$7,500 paid out quarterly ($1,875)

Brief resident of procedures involved in physical therapy and prepare necessary equipment

Assist in transporting residents to and from physical therapy room/area

Demonstrate to resident and nursing personnel the use of medical appliances involved in physical therapy (e.g., wheelchairs, crutches, canes, braces, and prosthetic appliances and devices)

Perform physical therapy in resident room as necessary

Assist the therapist as directed

Assist residents in ambulatory training as directed

Be alert to resident's response to treatment. Notify therapist immediately for assistance if required

Ensure that physical therapy procedures are those indicated in the care plan for the resident. Advise department supervisor of any need to adjust therapy plan to match or support stated care plan goals

Assist and participate in resident assessment activities as necessary

Provide therapy treatment in accordance with the resident's plan of care

Active/Clear Florida Physical Therapy Assistant License

Pass a Level II Background Check

Must be able to pass a drug screen and be medically cleared

$35/hr
