Job summary

Majestic Care is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to evaluate and treat residents in a long-term care setting. You will plan and implement OT interventions to enhance independence in daily activities and functional mobility, working closely with an interdisciplinary care team.

You will document progress, educate residents and families, and contribute to quality care. This PRN/part-time role may involve supervising COTAs and staying current with geriatric rehab guidelines.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• Minimum 2 years of experience, preferably in a long-term care or geriatric setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess residents’ physical, cognitive, and psychosocial function.
• Develop individualized treatment plans focused on improving activities of daily living (ADLs), self-care tasks, functional mobility, and safety awareness.
• Implement occupational therapy interventions including therapeutic exercises, ADL training, adaptive equipment use, and task-specific activities.
• Monitor and document residents’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to support optimal outcomes.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment plans, home exercises, and strategies to promote independence and safety.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, resident-centered care.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) in accordance with state and facility guidelines.
• Provide coaching, development, and corrective action as needed.
• Evaluate performance and offer constructive feedback to support team growth and quality care delivery.
