Job summary

The Village at Rockville, part of National Lutheran Communities & Services, seeks a compassionate Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) to join our Rockville senior living community on a PRN/on-call basis. The role supports residents with daily living activities and collaborates with the nursing team to ensure excellent care.

Shifts include day, evening, overnight, weekends, and holidays. Pay ranges from $21.00 to $25.00 per hour, with final compensation based on skills, experience, and

Qualifications

• Maryland GNA certification is required.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Experience in senior living, skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or healthcare settings is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to read and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care while preserving resident dignity and independence.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility).
• Monitor and report changes in resident conditions to the nursing team.
• Support residents during meals and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
• Assist with transfers and ambulation using safe resident handling techniques.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow individualized care plans.
• Foster a warm, welcoming environment through meaningful resident interactions.
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to provide exceptional care.

What You'll Do

As a Geriatric Nursing Assistant, you will:

What We're Looking For

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification in Maryland
• Current CPR certification preferred
• Previous experience in senior living, skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or healthcare settings preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Dependable, compassionate, and resident-focused approach
• Ability to work flexible PRN schedules, including any shift as needed
• Ability to read and speak English
