Job summary

The Mental Health Worker at BMC Health System, Seton 7 West, provides critical inpatient psychiatric care during night shifts. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to support adults 18+ and participate in crisis intervention, groups, and milieu management.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree or HS Diploma/GED with 2 years of mental health experience or a Mental Health Specialist certificate; CPR certification is required. Benefits and comprehensive compensation are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree OR HS Diploma/GED with 2 years’ mental health experience OR Mental Health Specialist certificate.
• CPR Certification Required.

Responsibilities

• Participates in crisis intervention using verbal and physical de-escalation per CPI and seclusion/restraint policies.
• Assists RN in administering physical care and personal hygiene measures.
• Leads and co-leads therapeutic process oriented and activity groups.
• Provides patient/family education and supports regarding milieu programming, goals of hospitalization and interventions.
• Gives observation/input to Nurse Manager/Charge RN when unable to communicate at treatment meetings.
• Evaluates patient progress toward goals and documents progress.
• Conducts safety checks and monitors unit mood and acuity.
• Communicates observations to social worker, clinical staff and family/caregivers.
