Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Geriatrics physician to oversee care for geriatric patients at the Roudebush VA Medical Center. The role includes teaching, patient care, and research within Geriatrics and Extended Care (GEC) Service.

Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) is available; pay combines base salary with market pay. Final compensable salary is determined through VA pay-setting, with a typical 8:00am-4:30pm schedule and full-time benefits.

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent degree from an approved school
• Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine/surgery
• Residency training approved by VA or equivalent accrediting bodies
• Board certification in Geriatric Medicine preferred for faculty/academic roles

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in outpatient and inpatient geriatrics settings
• Participate in performance improvement and system redesign initiatives
• Support graduate/undergraduate medical education and research
• Collaborate with residents, fellows, and APPs in evaluation and treatment of geriatric patients
• Engage in clinical governance, committee work, and quality assurance activities
