Job summary

PACE by IIH is a community-based health care provider in Bakersfield seeking a Medical Assistant to support exams, assist providers with procedures, and handle vital signs and specimen collection in clinic.

You will schedule tests, maintain clean exam rooms, document in EHR, ensure safety and infection control, and provide back-up to front office. Minimum 1 year experience with frail elderly population; MA certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience working with frail elderly population.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred; CPR/First Aid required.
• Immunizations up-to-date and maintained as required.

Responsibilities

• Report on personal care services and participant condition changes.
• Assist providers with examinations and minor procedures.
• Take vital signs and document in the participant's chart.
• Prepare and process lab specimens; schedule tests and procedures.
• Maintain infection control and safe, clean work areas.
• Provide back-up to front office and manage calls as needed.
