Job summary

Welcome Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant – Float to support clinical operations across our Riverside clinic and other Welcome Health locations as needed. The role involves assisting clinicians, rooming patients, and performing phlebotomy and waived lab tests within established protocols.

You will travel between clinics, adapt to different workflows, and support home-based patient care when required.

Qualifications

Experience delivering clinical care, preferably in outpatient or in-home settings.
Prior experience working with older adults (65+) is strongly preferred.
Active Medical Assistant certification is required.
Basic proficiency in MS Office products.
Experience using Athena is preferred.
Thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and able to work independently.
Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist clinicians with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments in the clinic.
Routinely room patients and obtain vital signs, chief complaints, and medication history.
Review and update medications, allergies, and relevant patient information in the medical record.
Perform phlebotomy and laboratory draws as needed.
Support vaccinations and other procedures under provider direction.
Perform waived laboratory testing per clinic protocols.
Prepare examination rooms and ensure supplies are available.
Assist with patient flow to support clinic operations.
Follow infection prevention and quality standards.
