Job summary

Little Sisters of the Poor Queens is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Queen of Peace Residence in NY. The role focuses on providing and supervising medical and personal care, adhering to a comprehensive plan of care to support residents’ mental and psychosocial well-being.

The ideal candidate has NY licensure as an LPN, at least one year of nursing experience (geriatrics/rehab/psychiatric preferred), and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and NY license to practice as LPN.
• One year of nursing experience, preferably geriatrics, rehabilitation or psychiatric nursing.
• Ability to function as Charge Nurse for their tour of duty.
• Good written and verbal communication in English; ability to read/write/understand English.
• Knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Daily observation of assigned Residents and reporting changes in status.
• Timely reporting of changes in Residents status to Director of Nursing.
• Notification of physician or responsible party as directed.
• Assist Residents with psychosocial needs such as aging and health changes, loss and grief.
• Administer prescribed medications/treatment with proper documentation.
• Respond to emergencies and report to Director of Nursing.
• Transcribe physician orders accurately and timely.
