The role requires reading, writing and speaking English, and involves lifting up to 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally. Training and ongoing education are encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Knowledgeable of dietary techniques and procedures.
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and/or 50 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Prepares meals, desserts and snacks in accordance with the posted menu schedule; follows special diets and dietary concerns.
• Serves meals that are palatable and presentable.
• Keeps work area clean, organized, sanitized; may wash pots and pans.
• Knows health code requirements for food storage and hot/cold holding temperatures and maintains documentation.
• Estimates and prepares food supplies to meet serving portions.
• Maintains a safe, clean and respectful work environment.
• Attends and participates in continuing educational programs.
